  • Really like this one - especially the prep-like restraint you have achieved with hitting a sophisticated level of contrast in the black-and-white tones without hard blacks or whites.
Me, I've been a die-hard Photoshop snob for a long time, but the end results you produce are a strong argument that any tools work in the right hands.
  • Thanks Victoria. I, too, have been (and still am -- a bit) a purist when it comes to manipulating images. I've come around a bit, particularly since using Capture NX2. This image, however, was processed with Google's Picasa. It has very minimal adjustments. In fact, I think the only thing I did with this image was a little cooling of the black & white temperature (I shot it in B&W), sharpening, and a slight straightening to have the windows level. I didn't do anything with fill light or highlights. I may have pushed a little shadow in the picture, but I don't recall.

    Cheers!
    Matthew
